Ashlee began practicing Pilates while studying her physically demanding Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2009. It has been invaluable to maintaining her fitness and wellbeing throughout her career as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher.
It was an easy decision for Ashlee to combine her love of Pilates, movement and teaching by completing her diploma and becoming a Polestar Pilates instructor. She is especially interested in how the body learns and loves to help people find more efficient ways to move and avoid injury during day-to-day, sports and recreational activities. She believes in the versatility of Pilates as a fantastic method to achieve this as it can be modified to suit anybody and their goals. Ashlee has experience teaching in a variety of settings including athletics clubs and secondary schools as well as physiotherapy and fitness studios. She is currently training to become a Polestar Mentor to assist students completing the Certificate IV Pilates course.
Ashlee’s other loves include looking after her pot plants, making jewellery, playing board games and working towards a zero waste lifestyle.
